How I can help
New Profile activist
Dr. Diana Dolev
will be touring in the U.S. East Coast from October 17th to November 9th.
Sponsored by the Refusers Solidarity
Network (RSN) and the Youth & Militarism Program
of the American Friends Service Committee, her talks will introduce U.S.
audiences to the feminist, anti-militarist work of New Profile in
Israel/Palestine, highlighting crucial links between U.S. militarization and
militarization in Israel/Palestine, clarifying connections between Israel's
occupation of the West Bank and Gaza (the latter still under Israeli control)
and the U.S.-led occupation of Iraq. New Profile, a central player in
the Israeli anti-militarist and refuser movements, hopes to strengthen ties with
parallel groups in the U.S.A. and to raise vital funds for ongoing work.
The very process of creating this tour has already begun to realize one of its central goals, that of extending and strengthening networks. There are many institutions, organizations, grassroots groups and individuals without which the tour would not have been possible. New Profile is deeply grateful to the sponsoring organizations, RSN and AFSC, for their crucial contributions to its success and to the Fellowship of Reconciliation (FOR) for their special effort and support. We extend our warm thanks to the many many others who contributed the time, the generosity and goodwill, the work and funding that created each separate leg of this tour. Hopefully, this series of talks will open up new channels of communication and consolidate existing ones, providing us all with added access to that powerful resource - cooperation.
Diana and New Profile are delighted that some of
the venues will be shared with co-speaker Liz Rivera Goldstein, of Port
Townsend, Washington, who has been appointed coordinator of the National Network
Opposing the Militarization of Youth.
